About Us

Northwest Classical Academy (NCA) is a tuition-free public charter school in Kennesaw, GA. It opened for grades K-6 in the 2021-2022 school year. NCA currently serves grades K-9 for the 2023-2024 school year and will continue to add a grade each year until reaching a full K-12 configuration for the 2026-2027 school year.

All Georgia families are eligible to apply and no entrance testing is required.

For the 2023-2024 school year, NCA enrolls approximately 736 students in grades K-9. To the extent that demand exceeds the number of available seats, enrollment will be determined by lottery. In accordance with state charter school law, NCA will offer enrollment preference to the students of its full-time employees, board members, and siblings. The Mission of Northwest Classical Academy is to develop students in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.

Partners

Liberty Classical Schools

Northwest Classical is a partner school in the Liberty Classical Schools network. Liberty exists to launch and support K-12 classical schools. Their team of experienced founders and operators of classical schools helps communities to start K-12 classical charter schools by determining feasibility, considering public demand and political climate, guiding outreach efforts, supporting site selection and facilities efforts, and more. Liberty also works with future school leaders, training them in current Liberty schools and preparing them as new schools launch, as a part of our Leadership Fellowship Program. Once a school is launched, Liberty provides guidance and support in a number of areas, including data and administration, human resources, operations, and advancement.

Barney Charter School Initiative

Northwest Classical is a Hillsdale College Member School. Through their Barney Charter School Initiative, Hillsdale College is devoted to the education of young Americans by supporting the launch of K-12 charter schools. These schools train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a rigorous, classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue.

The campus is at 3010 Cobb Parkway North, Kennesaw, GA 30152. It sits in the northwest corner of Cobb County and is accessible by twenty-minute drive to points in Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, and Paulding Counties. The 34-acre campus includes a 111,000 square-foot, LEED-certified school building constructed in 2012.
