Fine Arts Pathways
Once students reach High School, they can choose from a variety of Fine Arts Electives for their required Fine Arts credit. Each of these electives allows students to specialize in their area of interest and refine their skills. The music and art departments host two Fine Arts Nights each year, serving as exciting performance goals for students to showcase their growth and talents to the school community. These events celebrate the dedication and creativity of the students, providing a platform for them to shine and share their musical and artistic accomplishments.

Music Electives:
Orchestra
Concert Band
Vocal Ensemble
In the String Orchestra Electives, students can learn and master instruments such as the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Concert Band Electives offer instruction in a variety of wind, brass, and percussion instruments. Meanwhile, the Vocal Elective focuses on vocal techniques, harmonization, and ensemble singing, allowing students to develop their voices as instruments of expression.
In addition to regular instruction and performances on campus, students in these programs will also have the opportunity to perform at the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaulation, as well as prepare for All-State and Honor Ensemble auditions. For those who wish to participate, dedicated support and guidance will be provided to help them work toward these prestigious audition opportunities.String Students Click here for more information!

Visual Arts Electives:
Drawing & Painting
Sculpture
Photography
Art History
At NCA, we believe that every young artist deserves the space to explore and grow. Our Visual Arts program gives students a dynamic foundation before high school, providing true room for creative exploration. For our aspiring high school artists, we offer a wide range of options that go beyond graduation requirements. Students can delve into the worlds of art history and photography through half-credit courses, and then progress into our full-credit Visual Arts Comprehensive Foundations course. Here, they will build essential skills in both 2D and 3D studies. As they advance, specialized, half-semester courses allow for more autonomous studio techniques and the creation of a professional portfolio. With options in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and pottery, students have the opportunity to experiment and refine their artistic voice.
